Are You Bulimic and Looking For Bulimia Treatment?

Are you trying to be rail-thin? Have you contemplated restricting or bingeing and purging to accomplish this? If so, then please read on. Anorexia and Bulimia are the most prevalent of all eating disorders out there today. Anorexia is centered on starving your body of the proper nutrition it needs on a daily basis and whittling away one pound at a time.

On the other hand, bulimia is based on consuming extremely large amounts of food in one sitting ( known as a binge) and then purging the food immediately. Purging can be physically throwing up the food, exercising for hours ( also known as exercise bulimia), or even by taking laxatives.

In any case, those that are struggling with either eating disorder generally have many of the same underlying issues in common. Eating disorders play a role in a persons life much like a temporary pain killer. They act as a temporary fix in that they numb the individual at first allowing them to function daily without feeling their true feelings. Read the rest of this entry »

Try Yoga For A Fresh Breath of Life

Yoga is a 6000-year-old form of exercise which not only disciplines the body but conditions the mind as well.

While the various asanas or exercises are the basic building blocks of the practice of yoga, the breath is its very essence of it. Some go so far as to say, “If you can breathe, you can do yoga.” One of the main reasons for this is that one of the main goals of yoga is to teach you to still and quiet your mind through the use of your breath. Seated Oblique Twists with Medicine Ball

Seated oblique twists with medicine ball, sometimes called a Russian Twist, is a very effective exercise for strengthening the abdominal muscles, particularly the rectus abdominis, the external obliques and internal obliques.

How to do it right:

* Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
* Contract your abs and sit at about a 45 degrees angle.
* Hold a medicine with both hands directly in front of you
* Contracting your abs, twist slowly from your torso to your right and touch the medicine ball to the floor beside you.
* Quickly, but smoothly, contract your abs and twist your torso and touch the medicine ball to the other side.
* Repeat for the desired number of reps.
