How To Stay Motivated While You Exercise At Home
A lot of people find home exercise more practical and advantageous than enrolling at a gym for a fitness program. Aside from being cheaper, exercising from home also allows you to exercise on your own time. This is especially great for those who have busy lifestyles and can not squeeze in gym schedules into theirs.
Other benefits people get from doing their fitness routine at home is the privacy they can enjoy. Working out in the gym compels you to exercise with strangers. Although it’s not something bad necessarily, there are times when you just want to do your own thing alone, or at least not with people you don’t know. Of course, the best advantage of working out at home is it can be just as effective as anywhere else. Stay focused on your routine and you will surely get in shape and feel awesome in no time. How To Perform Kundalini Cobra Yoga
Core streamlined fitness, make no mistake, is found in the movements of the snake. Kundalini is a power entwined that will unwind and move up the spine when the body is aligned. In other words, your energy gets unstuck, and your mind opens like the hood of a cobra. Health and awareness become your natural state of being when you are internally bathed with free flowing energy. So lets get going with the flowing!
The Warmup: Stand and bow your head. Move it back and forth lifting it up and back and feeling yourself do it one vertebra at a time. Now move your head up and around in a circle going forward and back a few times before reversing the direction. Like following an imaginary sideways clock. Now imagine the clock turned to face you and go around it with your head clockwise and counterclockwise a few times. Then imagine the clock at your left then right shoulder and move just your head to face it and do the same movements. Now imagine the clock is laid flat at your eye level and move your head around it’s circle that way clockwise and counterclockwise. Then bring your head back to the center and turn it left then right then left then right. Then down and back and down and back. Then left ear to left shoulder and right ear to right shoulder a few times. Then lower your head and roll it around in both directions without holding it up. The master nerve center in your body runs through your neck and it is where the most efficient movements are started from. Your head knows where to go and your neck moves it there. That is the way a snake travels. You are now warmed up for the following twelve exercises. Enjoy them, have fun with them, do not strain to do them. Exercise is meant to relieve stress, invigorate you, rejuvenate you, and raise your spirit. Read the rest of this entry »

Exercise And The Brain
Note: My friend and fitness author Jon Benson shared this letter with me and gave me permission to share it with you.
If you ever needed another good reason to exercise, I’ve got one for you:
Exercise makes your brain bigger.
Actually this isn’t entirely accurate. To be more specific, exercise was found to increase brain size slightly, but far more important to increase “spatial reasoning.”
This is the ability to recognize patterns, remember phrases, numbers, and so-on. This was discovered by researchers at the Universities of Chicago and Pittsburgh.
It is also one of the most important factors to the prevention of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
My mom suffered with dementia the last ten years of her life. But unlike most dementia patients she was fully functional thanks to exercise. She drove and had a mind that was unbelievably sharp right up until an accident injured her beyond the ability to exercise.
After that, she mentally went downhill rapidly. Thankfully, she passed in peace… and she had ten wonderfully active years thanks to her willingness to take up weight training at the age of 71.
She eventually walked up to 3 miles per day and trained in the gym 3 days per week.
That kept her mind sharp, along with fish oil and N-Acetyl L-Carnitine, a wonderful brain nutrient.
Once again, we see the power of exercise. It increases the QUALITY of your life.
Quantity is no where near as important to me as quality.
One of the best ways to start exercising when you are over 40 is by using the routines covered in “Fit Over 40″.
This book profiles 53 different men and women, age 40 to 80, all sharing their workouts, nutrition plans, and mental empowerment techniques.
It is a MUST-HAVE for anyone wanting to begin exercising or improve their level of fitness after the age of 40.

How To Get Motivated To Exercise
Finding and keeping the motivation we need to exercise is one of the must difficult elements of maintaining our health and fitness. Motivation is what provides meaning for all of our huffing and puffing. Face it, we know that we need to do it and that it is, putting aside some injuries, good for us. Problem is that this knowledge is not enough to get many, if not most people, to maintain a regular exercise program or fitness routine.

Swine flu has really taken hold. Not just in the United States, but all over the world.
But that’s not the scary part…

My friend Jon Benson put together a 5-minute video that documents these findings.
This is freee for you to view — and you owe it to yourself to check it out.
